Please don't! Stick to your first decision and let it run at least for two weeks that way. It just is a different way of managing lists that people will get used to. If the LO lists would have started with that setting to begin with, there wouldn't be loud complaining now. It is true that some people now get duplicate mail, but only those actually participating in a discussion, and there it can be beneficial for some, and for some others (gmail users) there is no difference at all. So have it settle two weeks, then let the corresponding projects have a vote they organize themselves.
