Fair point and I think this is even more true for Americans esp in 
the 1980s given the underground subculture of Mod over there compared 
to its relativly mainstream advances made in the UK over the last 20 
years.  However will anyone on the list really insist that for eg the 
massive upturn, both in critical claim and and followers 
of the Small Faces in the 90s is a bad thing?  Things like this 
happened for a vareity of reasons, but not least all those reissues.  
I have just bought a Graham Bond reissue for stlg15, it is is the music 
on it that is all important.  Yes nice to have the original, but 
you've to find it first and then have the cash.  An appreciation is 
surely more in tune with the mod asthetic.  As are choosing the right 
clothes, which you find down an Oxfam
