Ian: That badge sounds interesting. Any chance you could send me a picture of it, so I can add it to the listing of world-wide Morgan badges. I wonder if many were made that way?

Thanks in advance.

I have one from the same era where the diagonal stripes run in the
opposite direction than true!

Get well soon,

Best wishes

I had an email today from a Morgan owner, via my address in Miscellany
not Mogtalk, about the Club badge.

It seems he had been reading a piece about the Club badges on a site
and saw that an MSCC badge without Morgan around the rim, only Sports
Car Club, was a fake. Not seen the article myself, been under the
weather, in and out of hospital since Easter, be nice to be driving
soon.

There was a small quantity of such badges made by mistake, these are
genuine, several members bought one at the time because of the mistake.

They were stamped on the back with the manufacturers name, Marples and
Beasley Birmingham. As well as Marples and Beasley the Club badge can
also be found stamped Made in England by James Baker and Co. Albion
Street, Birmingham, and Gladman and Norman Ltd., both later
manufacturers.

The 4/4 Club badge was made, and stamped,Marples and Beasley, they did
a good job but as members from the 60s will remember delivery dates
were not their thing. The blue background could differ in shade on
these, my original 1965 badge darker than some I purchased later when
the Club changed its name.

Cheers,

Chas..
