David, how old is an old fart, I wonder? Looking around at all who came along
to Brands Hatch Morgan's breakfast today, I guess the average age of a Mog
driver (and navigator) must be in the late 50s. Has anyone a more accurate
figure?

Hi Brian..........Im afraid I have to take issue with your post;when I offered
to insure my mog so my receptionist could drive it, she told me that they were
for old farts and she wouldnt b e seen dead in it;being an old fart myself, im
afraid that my defence wasnt too convincing, and here you are, just making her
point for her...........ho hum...............

Further to chips.

The cheapest I remember was 3d for chips and 6d for fish.
An Auntie of mine remembered 1/2d for chips and 1/2d for fish.

'French Fries' were invented in Wiltshire because they had the Devizes to
Chippenham.

Battered fish were introduced by the Jewish Community in London.
Chips were first made in Lancashire using cotton seed oil.

Chips are a rip off these days. You can easily pay a £ or more for a normal
portion.

It’s not all that long ago since “standard” price for chips was 6d (2½ p).

You also got chips in newspaper (, but with fresh white paper between the chips
and newsprint). This probably kept costs down a bit. Now I suppose “health and
safety” nonsense has helped with the changes and price rises. All those
horrible polystyrene trays have to be paid for……….

Hi Richard

I have N1 CJJ (middle name Joseph) on my tin top and I (very sadly) left CJ 02
MOG on the 4 seater when I sold it as I never thought I would have another
Morgan, I have seen CJ 08 MOG for sale at £179 which is as cheap as chips and
the latest car is also an 08 so it makes sense but I would really like CJ 02
MOG back as that was on my Mogs since I had it on the 02 +8. Oh well.

BR

Colin
