He was born in 1865, had his 13th birthday in India, circumnavigated in
1882/1883 when he was 16/17.
Was on Cunard's Umbria in the 1890s, Blue Riband holder, single screw so
had sails for emergency use hence sailors capable in sail.  7 days out, 7
days in New York, 7 days back, 7 days in Liverpool.

Left the sea after the turn of the century.
Two jobs considered, one in Blackburn, one in Texas.  My Grandmother
wouldn't go to Texas!
