In my 1988 4/4, I did something similar to the dash padding. The interior is
navy blue Connolly hides (which were normal for leather interiors then).
Meltonian navy blue shoe cream did the trick. I've used this to fill in the
cracks in the leather on an annual basis for a long time and the results are
entirely satisfactory.
Unfortunately, in the red interior of my +8, which has some Muirhead Ingleston
leather, scarlet shoe cream does not work nearly so well, although there are no
cracks in the leather, which has a neoprene surface coating and uses a
water-based dye, whereas the old Connolly hides were not dyed through. All the
colour was in the surface finish.
Cheers,
Owen.

Hi Bob
Like Bob Tyers I have the same problem. This is small patch on the cockpit
side of the scuttle, and I am at a loss as to how the leather was damaged. The
solution suggested on the restoration page of Furniture Clinic infers patching
I believe, I wonder if any of our mates on Mogtalk have tried to do the repair.
Kind regards

Bob, these people may be worth a look - they market a repair compound for
leather for fixing scuffs and holes and a dye to get back to original colour

There are some impressive looking case histories in the gallery.
I've only tried their cleaning and conditioning products but they were a
world apart from the generic "Halfords" type stuff I'd tried previously.
