Hi Bob

Interesting I will have a look at the video later today. I noticed Owen's comments on using "boot cream."  Actually on the damaged area on
my 4/4 I tried a boot cream that closely watch the coloured leather without success. I had forgotten this and Owens post pricked a gray cell ;-)
Bob I do agree that if someone has tried this please respond and tell us all!

Cheers
Ed

Hello Ed, just found this on http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9c8lPMxEe4A

It shows the use of the filling compound. I’d never imagined such a thing could work on a flexing surface like a leather seat but they seem pretty confident in their claims.

It’d be nice to hear from anyone that’s actually done this……….

Hi Bob

Like Bob Tyers I have the same problem. This is  small patch on the cockpit side of the scuttle, and I am at a loss as to how the leather was damaged.  The solution suggested on the restoration page of Furniture Clinic infers patching I believe, I wonder if any of our mates on Mogtalk have tried to do the repair.

Kind regards

Bob, these people may be worth a look – they market a repair compound for leather for fixing scuffs and holes and a dye to get back to original colour http://www.furnitureclinic.co.uk/Leather_Car_Interior_Repair_Restoration.php . There are some impressive looking case histories in the gallery.

I’ve only tried their cleaning and conditioning products but they were a world apart from the generic “Halfords” type stuff I’d tried previously.
