I see that a monitor plugin does not get the <group, service> values (as
an alert does). I am contemplating 1) using the description tag,
2)passing them on the command line or 3) changing mon to set them into
the environment. Is there a better way?

I don't understand the following in the mon man page:

"In addition to environment variables defined by the user in the
service definition, mon passes certain variables to monitor process."

Is this a way to feed this info to a monitor?

Thanks in advance,
Michael Vogt
