On the coat-tails of this inquiry about a vang to keep the boom "down", does
anyone out there use anything akin to a topping lift when they need to keep
the boom "up"?  Has anyone considered using a "boomkicker" (flexible
fiberglass wand designed to keep the boom horizontal at all times)?  Thanks!

btw: A friend of mine is selling his classic 1970 Potter 14.  It has the
wood spar and boom and in overall good condition. He's asking around $2k
