I had my '84 professionally surveyed prior to purchase sight unseen and don't regret the expense: However, it sounds as if Eugene's boat is cherry, you have reliable witness to that fact, so the survey might be a waste of money. I was able to wring an extra few bucks for the purchase out of my credit union by presenting the survey value, but not enough make a difference.
