Doug, The scenery is magnificent. And it is a rather large lake...I think there is like 500 miles of shoreline. There are several public launch areas and a state park. In the summer the wind is often nil during the day but picks up at sunset. In the fall and winter, there is a bit more wind. I haven't sailed on any other lake around here so I don't really have anything to compare it with but I would highly recommend it.
