I think you're right on the older boats Bill. If you look at the photos of new boats on Bob Eeg's site a new M15 on a trailer has a bow eye installed with the trailer winch mounted upside down on mounting bracket. Now that I study it a little it looks like the eye is mounted about 3 lapstrakes down from the deck. t
