A tool box for probably under $10, and you are worried about the quality of the hardware? If it is just plated steel, and rusts out after 10 years, then the tool box has cost you $1.00 per year for operational costs. After five years of use mine shows no rust spots at all. Do you leave it out in the cockpit overnight? Martinis cost $5 and up these days, so the tool box depreciation represents 1/5th of a Martini per year in cost.
