Back when I had a M15 I had to replace my CB. I called Jerry who told me the
pin was slightly tapered, inserted from the starboard side. I tapped it out,
replaced the board and used 5200 to "glue it in. I never had another problem
with it. I totally agree with Doug. The pin must not be able to move.
Oh, and to any of you getting a new (used) Montgomery, the reason I had to
replace the the CB was because I didn't check the CB pendant length. The first
time I took it out, I lost the CB because it extended beyond the trunk aft.
What a rukus...Looking back on it I think the board flailing about on its
pendant could have holed her.

It definitely should not be moving. Ideally the pin
should be recessed about 1/8 inch on both sides and
epoxied in place.
You might getaway with it flush and using 3M 5200 but
there seems to be a lot of latteral pressure while
trailering. If your boat gets out of balance so one
bunk board is slightly higher than the other the pin
will wiggle out.
The pin on my CB wiggled almost out and I didn't
notice it and lost my board while sailing.
