For quieting the wires inside the mast, I filled it with styofoam packing
peanuts and plugged the ends with a piece from a swim noodle.  Works very
well and provides floatation in the unlikely event of a turtle.  I've
heard of others cinching a zip tie around the wires every couple feet and
leaving the long tails to press against the inside of the mast,
preventing the wires from slapping.
