All this talk about slugs and slots got me to thinking about reefing. I have
one reef point some 3 feet up, but I am wondering if anyone has found the need
for a second or third. Does a furling headsail do the trick for reducing area
up forward? Has anyone tried a jiffy reefing setup like the pricey Harken kit
in the West Marine catalog? Looks workable to me, but I am only familiar with
a cam cleat on the boom and a hook at the gooseneck, and lots of working room.
