I tried a one-line jiffy reefing system on my M15 and abandoned it in
favor of the hook and clew line as being simpler to rig and faster to
reef. I use that system on my M17 with clew lines for both first and
second reefs and short lines for each take grommet.

headsail do the trick for reducing area up forward? Has anyone
tried a jiffy reefing setup like the pricey Harken kit in the West
Marine catalog? Looks workable to me, but I am only familiar with
a cam cleat on the boom and a hook at the gooseneck, and lots of
working room.
