I found a nut and bolt on mine, 1977 Monty 17. There was a but and bolt for the stop pin as well, that was pretty bent and wouldn't come out very easy. Sawzall use was required to remove that one ---

M15 #310 - previous owner had removed the pin from the port side. The pin in my boat is not tapered but is not original equiptment. When inserting
the pin there was no indication that the hole was tapered.
