Bones chiming in. My '76 M17 has the bolt and nut arrangement. When Hooper's Yachts had my swing keel out of my M23 three years ago, David, their excellent fiberglass man, constructed bushings for both pins out of epoxy and graphite which were then epoxied into the keel/hull housing. The pins on the M23 are straight rods.
