Bones:

I used Penofin on my last boat's mahogany trim. I like it. I've never used it on teak, but I like the fact that its thin, seems to soak in well, provides a nice rich color, is easy to reapply, appears to have good UV protection, and there is no heavy buildup to crack, chip, or peel. I plan on using it on the teak trim on my 23 this year which is also has raised grain and is in need of sanding.

Headed to the Seattle boat show this weekend myself.

Subject: M_Boats: Teak care

Hi Listers,

Well, I don't wish to open a full blown discussion about the best way to treat our teak, as we all have our own ideas, but, I was wondering if anyone has used the Semco or Penofin oil products. My M23 teak is going to get some serious attention this spring, it has raised grain and needs to be sanded smooth. I am a teak oiler, and these two products offer superior claims to protection and longevity.

Boat show this weekend in Mpls.

Thanks,

Bones
