I did some digging on DistroWatch and found PCLinuxOS (
http://distrowatch.com/table.php?distribution=pclinuxos ) as of their last
update ( Friday 10 January 2014 13:20 GMT ) was still shipping 5.10.1.

The next question is what is a major operating system. PCLinuxOS happened
to be included on DistroWatch's "Major Distributions" page (which is why I
looked at it), it is the 7th most popular distro page on their site for the
last 12 months. However 83 on the list is Solaris which is arguably a much
more important operating system (it ships 5.14.1 in Solaris 11 according to
DistroWatch), so the question is how do we measure "major operating
system"?

Once we know what the criteria of that are, we can just keep tabs on their
Perl version and update accordingly.
