Sabin probably closed the store because the City of LA decided to close all the
mom and pop stores on Hollywood & Vine to make room for the W Hotel and all the
shops that will cater to their customers.

I noticed the Sabin Gray's Backlot Books down the street
seems to have closed as well.
I stopped by today and it looked as though they were in the process of
cleaning it out. I know there was a fire on the block not long ago. I
don't know if the two were related.
