It's extremely confusing. Bruce just requested that people review their pressbooks from the period to see if there are indications of both a flat and linen set being issued for the same release of a film. It's a good idea. FRANC

I've seen re-release cards for ROBIN HOOD (Flynn) that were on flat stock that looked exactly like their earlier linen-counterparts but were definitely re-release from the early 40's. FOR GARTH: I'm curious if those ANGELS WITH DIRTY FACES have any dating of year in the copyright info. in the bottom border? But sometimes too re-release cards were reprinted in the flat version. There are two versions of Meet John Doe cards are out and the controversy continues as to whether or not both are original release or if the flat set came later in the run or was from a re-release. I always thought the flat cards from Dr. Erlich's for instance might be re-release but I was never sure. Unless one can find an actual pressbook from a particular film, one can't be sure. Great pieces all. One thing that I am curious about.... and this really goes out to the dealers on MoPo who have handled late 30's Warner paper. I really like those two prime scene cards from ANGELS WITH DIRTY FACES.....They are killers. What I am curious about is the fact that they are on flat stock paper which Garth notes in their description. I was not aware that the original release 1938 cards were on flat stock as well as the linen-textured stock which I am familiar with. Are they more rare? I've seen the linen-textured ones but not flat stock ones before from the original 1938 release. awaiting illumination, Steve _____ Date: Wed, 9 Dec 2009 19:32:56 -0800 From: jpotok...@ca.rr.com Subject: Re: [MOPO] New to MOPO & FS: Some Rare Items on eBay To: MoPo-L@LISTSERV.AMERICAN.EDU hey garth.. looks like you have some nice things.. welcome to MOPO, too, by the way! all the best. jeff On Dec 8, 2009, at 10:18 PM, Garth Grieder wrote: Hello everyone at MOPO, My name is Garth, and I collect movie posters up here in Canada.
