Whoops. Nicholas Smith aka Mr Rumbold from Are You Being Served is also still
going strong.

Peter Andre is a bit of an issue.
Though did discover early childhood was in fact here, then moved to Oz, then
back here with music career, then back to Oz, and now back here again for what
seems like an interminably long time.
Would be remarkably grateful if we could recommence the ping-pong.

Remember reading that "Are You Being Served?" has a following in the US.
Perhaps surprising, though Mrs Slocombe's pussy is a joke that has a lot of
legs.

Barry Humphries and the UK – is he popular in Australia?

Yes, very similar, and both acquired tastes.
Not sure whether it was just case comedy generally moving in the same
direction and both feeding off similar influences.
Though Dean Martin being influenced by Mr Grimsdale is an appealing
thought.

That sounds much like Norman Wisdom and Albania.

American's have never really acknowledged him other than
with their pocketbook. The folks around Paramount were well aware,
however.
It's a crime that Mickey Rooney has not been so honored.

If I had to choose between Danny Kaye, Jerry Lewis and now
Mickey Rooney then it is still hands down Danny Kaye. Besides being nominated
for X amount of Golden Globe awards throughout his career and wining a few
along the way for his musicals and comedies, he also was nominated for a golden
globe for the excellent drama "Skokie" in 1982 proving he was more than just a
song and dance man and also a great comedian. Very few actors could be so good
in 3 quite different areas.
