I don't usually comment on the loss of a famous actor or person. But Rickman
was brilliant. His role in "Die Hard" was magnificent. What a tragic loss.

Phew, now a wild axe man has
expressed a liking for Truly Madly Deeply, I guess I can own up to liking it as
well. Haunting is the word I think. I was fearing maybe it caught me off
guard at a "soft" moment when it first showed on TV. It was a BBC film, so
hopefully they'll show it again now on TV here in the
UK so I can see whether I've become
harder and more cynical in the intervening years.

The cancer thing strikes me as
strange too. Makes me wonder whether The Government is carrying out secret
radiation experiments while we sleep. Or perhaps it's aliens. Whatever it is, I
don't like what it’s doing. I don't want to tempt fate, but at least Keith
Richards gives us all hope.

Toochis
- thanks for mentioning Alan Rickman on Broadway. It reminded me I'd seen him
in
Les Liaisons Dangereuses in London
in the mid-80s. I didn't know anything about him then, but I remember it being
an outstanding production overall. Saw
Bowie on stage twice last century, and Motorhead in 2014 (finally!). I now feel
a very, very lucky little audience-member.

I was a
fan of Rickman ever since his breakthrough role in "Die Hard". He was superb
in a little-seen film called "Truly, Madly, Deeply"...hell, he was great in
everything he appeared in. There are certain actors who elevate even a crappy
movie at least to watchability; Rickman was one of those guys. That
  voice....
And what's the deal with cancer? Doesn't it seem that a LOT more
people have the Big Casino than when I was younger? People were dying of
heart
attacks and strokes back then. Troubling.
Lastly...since I'm 66, it appears
I have 3 years to get my affairs in order. I'd better try to score that
"Invisible Ghost" one sheet ASAP. (Hey, at least I made a small attempt to
keep this post on topic at the end...)
