I have no doubt about that, but I always feel somewhat uncomfortable in places where I don't understand the language. Especially in places where they pretend to speak a language I do understand.
Don't worry, though, this problem is not limited to Northern Ireland, I had the same problem on the English countryside. As a friend of mine from Surrey put it upon my complaint: 'It's the slang of the local youth. It consists of dropping half of the consonants, mispronouncing the other half and torturing the vowels.' Or as an old friend from the US once put it: 'Two countries separated by a common language.'
