Id like to ask others for books that they reccomend that helps with
different aspects of MoQ, Zen and Lila are not the end of it, just a device
to let us see what Pirsig means by quality, and I, and I assume the rest of
you do as well, think that this concept is of vital importance. I think
however that in order to express the virtues of quality, and for quality to
become an intrinsic part of our thoughts (again?), we must first understand
the sociological drivers that in turn produce both quality and pseudo
quality in societies, focussing on the westernised society first(because I
think this is most relevant).
Here are some books that you guys may find interesting.
Demonic Males - Apes and the origins of Human Violence
- Richard Wrangham & Dale Peterson
Vital Lies, Simple Truths - The psycology of self deception
- Daniel Goleman
The Unconscious Civilization -
- John Ralston Saul
The Lucifer Principle - A scientific expedition into the forces of history
- Howard Bloom
The Third Wave
- Alvin & Heidi Toffler
Tainted Truth - the statistics of advertising
- Female (cant recall the auther)
These provide fascinating insights into a good range of things, alll of them
being able to be related to quality (not that suprising)
Cheers and I hope that you can furhter my own reading by your own
suggestions, good books are difficult to find if you dont know the title of
what youre looking for.
enjoy evolve
