I have just uploaded version 2.09 of tpsDig to the Stony Brook Morphometrics server.
An important change is the addition of an option to resample the points along a curve drawn with the pencil tool. This provides an easy way to obtain points more or less equally-spaced along a curve. Use the "By length" option for equally-spaced distances rather than just sampling from the existing points. This addition should make it easier to ensure that the same number of points are used for all specimens. I plan to update soon the option in tpsUtil to convert curve points to semilandmarks in addition to normal landmarks. I plan for it to also build the sliders file automatically. I have also fixed a problem with the set scale option. More details added to the help file about using the pencil tool as well as more details about the tps file format. I have also upgraded to a more recent version of the routines I use to read the various image formats so that more formats can now be used. Thanks to many people who pointed out problems or made suggestions including: Radu Iovita, Dennis Slice, Thom DeWitt, Bradley Johnson, and Ilya Tëmkin. Please let me know if you notice any glitches with this important update. ---------------------------------------------- F. James Rohlf, Distinguished Professor Dept.
