Karen Ernst is a visual literacy expert. She wrote this book: Picturing Learning: Artists & Writers in the Classroom by Karen Ernst
I saw her speak some years ago at a literacy conference at Hamlin University in St. Paul, MN. Her session focused us on the use of art--really visualizing--as a pre-step to writing. I really enjoyed the conference but now I wonder how I would reprocess that information, having read Mosaic and actively taught visualization and sensory imagery as a comprehension strategy. It does sound like it might tie into the visualizing very well. > ----- Original Message ----- > -- Lori Jackson District Literacy Coach & Mentor Todd County School District Box 87 Mission SD 57555 http:www.tcsdk12.org ph. 605.856.2211 Literacies for All Summer Institute July 17-20. 2008 Tucson, Arizona _______________________________________________ Mosaic mailing list Mosaic@literacyworkshop.org To unsubscribe or modify your membership please go to http://literacyworkshop.org/mailman/options/mosaic_literacyworkshop.org.
