I heard, and probably shouldn't speak from such vague hearings, that Marzano stresses comparison contrast I think. I guess this is a strategy of sorts but think it would grow out of text to text and is related to text structure. Maybe I'm wrong so anyone join in. I'm going to have to inquire into the Marzano list I guess.....I hadn't felt much need but I know Marzano is very popular. I just see his approaches as not being so deep and thoughtful. But they are NOT way different so I would relax.
