A professor in my class just mentioned Isabelle Beck's Robust Vocab. What is
your opinion and experience with it?

It seems this is a new trend to sell textbooks. Our district looked at
several reading series last year before going with MacMillan, which
thankfully I don't have to use. All of the major companies used some
popular "buzz term" to sell. Scott Foresman claimed their writing
was a
"Writing Workshop". As a devoted follower of writing workshop I
wanted to
puke. It is theoretically as far from writing workshop as you can get.
Nancie Atwell would have a stroke if she saw it. Another company used QtA
and QAR, which in my opinion were antithetical also. Another used Isabel
Beck's Robust Vocabulary as their major selling point.
Sickening!
