Partners and small groups are a great way to do "we do", I agree. My teachers tell me that their kids are not really independent in strategy usage... I am wondering if it is not enough modeling...not enough 'we do' ... not enough time spent helping kids understand the how and why of strategy usage... Jennifer L. She refers to what is done "to" learners, "with" learners, and "by" learners. The work done "with" learners starts with shared demonstration and moves to guided practice. That's the "we do", "we do".
