Doing literature circles would be helpful because the students can share jobs
and focus on what they are assigned; when the groups meet you have discussions
and they can help each other. Doing a mini-lesson on plots, character etc can
help the students get started and you showing them an example and explain is as
much great details or as clear as you can and they will get the concept once
they are involved in the process. I hope this helps, good luck.

Good Morning - I need some input on reading at 4th grade. Is there any
research
(or personal thoughts) that suggest that 4th/5th grade students should focus
their reading on one chapter book at a time? My thinking is that it is
difficult to keep track of plot, characters, etc. if they are reading more than
one.
