Considering the date I had another wonderfully birdy morning at the Landscape
Arboretum for 3 hours and then a quick 45 minute 1/2 mile stop at Carver Park.
Outside of 3 waves at the arboretum it was pretty quiet. Much of the activity
at the arboretum was in places I did not have time to get to yesterday. I
also noticed my first migrant flock of Blue Jays for the fall traveling with
some Robins, and a Cooper's Hawk didn't stand a chance with a couple dozen
crows harassing it. Unfortunately the days of warbler and vireo variety are
numbered. Though on Thursday there were still 11 warbler and 3 vireo species
reported in the Winnepeg, Manitoba area, so there are still some stragglers
making their way south.
