But it would be truly nice to have muli-levels of trust. With it we maybe could make more people use certs.
What about this:
If it is a low-level CA, ask the user "Is this site a banking site?".
The question could popup when he is about to post a form. The response could be cashed. (The question could be better :-)
This way the user don't have to know anything about certificates.
For POP3 and SMPT over SSL it could be accepted with low-level ca's by default.
