I'm not sure though if putting the *whole* "path" to the article in its name is a wise idea. After giving it some thought (while discussing rules for MZKB), my current position is that categories and subcategories should be used to define the "path", while the article title should be as short as possible, while being unique.
Another good point, and I think you might be right. I'll definitely rethink the pagenaming scheme with this in mind.
It's not the wiki markup that makes it hard for me to read (I'm used to
wiki). It's the fact that in internal links ("[[A | B]]"), "A" is too
long, makes it hard to follow the text itself. Well, maybe it's just
me.

As far as I understand (I tried to look what kind of hooks mediawiki has - some time ago), this is the only kind of extensions it supports - you can define special processing for custom tags. IIRC, the output of such extensions must be HTML, and cannot include wiki formatting. I would like to be proven wrong here, though.
You might be right, actually. I've been working off a possibly incorrect assumption that we would be able to extend MediaWiki behaviour however we wanted using extensions.
I'll have to research some more, obviously.

Thanks for bringing this stuff up. You have more practical experience with wiki use than me, so your suggestions are extremely valuable. I have some rethinking to do now :)
