Did you check the file attributes to make sure the file isn't
set to read only? If you copied the files to a CD, this is very
likely the problem. Make sure that Windows is set to show you
the COMPLETE file name - it's default setting will not show the
extensions.
And are you sure you're copying it to the right place?
In 6.2[Win98], profiles are located in:
/windows/application data/mozilla/profiles/
Make sure you copy the old mail folder contents into:
/windows/application data/mozilla/profiles/<userID>/*.slt/Mail
Also, change your news client to post plain text ONLY.
