This is somewhat misleading, too. Not one [EMAIL PROTECTED] has been laid off
by Netscape, but the [EMAIL PROTECTED] has been laid off.
This could be good if it goes towards a better independancy of Mozilla.
But - Is she still in good terms with Netscape/AOL?
- You said that her position in mozilla.org is not affected. Will she
continue advocating and contacting enterprise for Mozilla? Meeting people and
advocating for Mozilla the evenning after work or during the w-e seems unrealistic.
- Bug 96747 still open.
I think that raising these stinky points is necessary for people like me who are
interested in hacking Mozilla and thus beeing "external contributors".
Everybody of you at netscape.com or mozilla.org could answer these questions.
The point is that Mozilla is an open source project, so that external
contributors want to know what is happening.
I already gave part of my time in tracking duplicates in bugzilla, reporting
bugs and writing some UI proposal (you can agree/disagree with them or think
it's not code thus useless. It is still time dedicated to Mozilla). The next
step for me is to hack (as soon as I finish my PhD -within 4 months- and I learn
XUL!) I am still enthousiatic with Mozilla (it's a f.,ing good browser! ;) ) I
just want to know where I put my feet.
PS: could anyone explain me the meaning of laid off. For me, it's a synonym of
fired. I can be wrong. That's why I ask.
If I am wrong, please do accept my excuses for propagating something wrong.
