Thanks very much for these patches. As they only touch configure and
make.bat which were not under current maintenance by anyone, I will merge
these directly into our repository.

Naturally we are familiar with ECL and we are pleased that you are
considering MPIR. Our next release is still a way off due to limited
availability of time for the developers at the moment. But some patches get
added to the git repo every now and again, which makes it more up-to-date
than the latest release. You may wish to base your copy on that for now.
