There are two new houses at the end of my block. One was built on a double
sized lot.  I remember the lot price being around $5000 after MCDA cleared
it.  (Keith Ford or Darrel Hall will probably correct me on that).

Both houses are full 2 story, 3 BR, attached 2 car garrage, 2.5 Baths,
full basements.  They sell for $174,900.  YIKES!! That may not be all that
affordable for a lot of families in need of housing.

I only mention that to note what can happen when we fill those empty lots.

I complained to a Channel 11 reporter a couple of months ago when they
blamed all of the Metro affordable housing woes on the "MUSA" line and the
Met-Council.  I told him of the hundreds of vacant lots or vacant and
boarded houses in Minneapolis. I was told by him that these lots and lots
of lots in in Minneapolis were insignificant.  They are significant to me.

But I drift away from list members in the news...
