Hi Folks:
Eva once again has shown her view of the DFL-endorsed candidate in the 6th
Ward, Dean Kallenbach, without really knowing anything about him. I assume Eva
dislike for candidate Kallenbach has more to do with me than with the
candidate. He she really knew everything about the candidates in the Sixth
Ward, such as Barb Lickness, she probably won't like to hear what she would
find. For example, Barb's support of the Washington Monument Obelisk in the
Wasburn-Fair Oaks Park in stark contrast to what the neighboring residents
opposition; or, Barb's claims to support of projects like the Whittier
Community School--which she opposed (Darrel Washington, can verify this
information.) If Barb was the real activist of the neighbors and represented
their views, why did so many current Whittier Board members and residents not
support her during the DFL endorsement convention--these were not DFL hack
individuals that many would like portray them as.
Finally, Eva again points out Dean Kallenbach's absence at the Insight Forum.
Eva was e-mailed a reasonable response to Dean's inability to attend--which any
fair minded person would find acceptable. But, Eva would rather cast some
veiled cloud over his not attending. I have attached my e-mail to Eva to the
entire list, so Mpls. list members can make up their own mind. Also, Eva fails
to mention that Mr. Kallenbach attended and participated in the a Sixth Ward
held candidate forum, sponsored by Whiitier Neighbors, held prior to the
endorsing convention.

This is the following e-mail message sent to Ms. Young regarding the Lucille's
Kitchen forum:
   1. Mr. Kallenbach was notified late Friday evening of the Lucille's
Kitchen forum, only three days before the actual event.
The Kallenbach campaign did learn on the day of the forum that a couple of the
other campaigns did have much more advanced
notice of this forum!
    2. Mr. Kallenbach has a private sector job that makes it difficult to
take time off on short notice--unlike many other
candidate who work for a non-profit and governmental organizations.
    3. Mr. Kallenbach could not get his schedule rearranged on his next day
at work --Monday--one day before the event.
He was scheduled to appear in court as a witness for the company he works for.
    4. Because of the format of the forum was largely unstructured, other
speakers and comments from the audience ate up so
much time that only 1-1/2 to 2 minutes were allowed for each candidate to make
remarks. So much for a real discussion of the
issues

DFL-endorsed candidate Dean Kallenbach is willing and ready to appear at
responsible candidate and issue forums in regards
to the election in the Sixth Ward City Council seat. As he did at two forums
held prior to the Sixth Ward DFL convention.
