I use TextPad. It does all these things and more and is cheap.

RE: [Mspgcc-users] MAKE problemYou do realise that you can use a windowed
editor with a command-line compiler, don't you? If you really feel that you
have to run the compiler from "within" your editor, then most decent
programmer's editors have a way to run external command-line programs and
capture their output in a window. There are some that can be quite clever
about it, such as interpreting the output of gcc and letting you quickly
jump to error lines.

David

Hi list,

This editor has been in use for about 20 years without any problems on
windows platforms upto Win98 SE.
As the msp20040723 distibrution won't run with Win98 i am forced to use
WinXP, if anyone could point me
to a way of running the mspgcc tools outside a command line window i would
really like to know how. :=)

Regards

Jens

Hi list

I have found the problem.
I am using a homebrew dos editor and when you save the file windows
translates the filename into UPPERCASE.
This is also the case for several of the other examples where the makefile
have been edited with a dos based editor.
Does anyone know of a way around this.

Regards
Jens

Stupid idea: ¿Isn't your new makefile makefile.txt and Windoze is hiding the
extension? Some editors append a .txt by default and if Windows is set to
hide known file extensions...

Asunto: [Mspgcc-users] MAKE problem
Hi all,
I have just installed the mspgcc-20040723 package on a win xp professional
system, and have run into a funny problem with MAKE.
I am testing the installation using the leds example.
If i run MAKE with the makefile provided everything is ok but
if i edit the makefile to change processor, MAKE can't find the file.
If i run MAKE -f makefile all is ok.
I have done a hexdump on the makefile before and after editing and
both are terminated with cr/lf and both have the same file attributes
I am logged on with administrator priviledges.
Could this have something to do access rights?
Any help would be greatly appriciated.
Best regards to all
Jens
