Thanks for the reply, I don't think that's my problem though, unless I'm
misunderstanding something. I did indeed have . in my $PATH.
So I exported a new path without ., followed by rm -rf obj-msp; mkdir
obj-msp; cd obj-msp; re-run configure; make; sudo make install.
Exactly the same failure mode.
Or did I not understand that thread, and removing . in my $PATH was not
what was called for ?
