No. We kind of suspected McAfee products since when we upgraded from Windows 7 x64 to Windows 10 1607, we removed all McAfee products prior to the upgrade and we did not have disk encryption at the time.
Since then, we now have a slew of McAfee products (Drive Encryption, DLP, MAR McAfee Active Response, Application Control, WebControl, etc). As a test, we removed DE, MAR, Application Control and managed to get it down to 2 hours. But Stephanie only has BitLocker and one language (en-US) and they are 3+ hrs as well. I have no other steps in my TS other than Upgrade, even removed Dynamic Update, ran cleanmgr.exe to remove old Windows installs, remove all but one user profile . . . (ConfigMgr is running 1710, our OS Upgrade Package is 1709 and serviced up to December’s cumulative update and Adobe Flash) [cid:[email protected]] From: [email protected] [mailto:[email protected]] On Behalf Of Niall Brady Sent: December 28, 2017 2:20 PM To: [email protected] Subject: Re: [mssms] RE: How long does an average In Place Upgrade take? are you using anything like Bit9 (Carbon Black) ? I've seen lenghty delays when that's enabled, not just for upgrades but even for installing a cumulative update.. I am stumped as to why it is so much longer now, almost 4 x, compared to Win 7 to Win 10 1607. We’ll keep digging.
