Thanks again Aaron. I am testing with fresh builds each time (1607 to 1709).
Only one profile.

We had dozens of profile migration issues causing failures in our Windows XP to
Win7 upgrades, and in almost every case doing a chkdsk /r fixed “something” and
It worked on the following try. Whether it was the power of coincidence or we
really had a lot of bad filesystems out there I’ll never know, but Windows was
particularly sensitive to something on the disk and that resolved it. Maybe
worth a try.

Thanks,

Yes, I have been scouring it and watching it throughout the process, and thank
you Aaron.

All appears as usual, but I notice that when it is doing profile migration, it
takes a couple of seconds per line and is going through all kinds of languages
we do not use. The whole process is about 20-30 minutes per profile. That is
why I removed all but one profile.

Have you looked in the c:\windows\panther\setupact.log file to see what the
update process is doing to take so long? It’s a huge log but the entries are
timestamped so you might be able to scan through it and find large amounts of
time being consumed by some of the steps.

Thank you very much, Stephanie.

I am stumped as to why it is so much longer now, almost 4 x, compared to Win 7
to Win 10 1607.

We’ll keep digging.
