Yeah, my company pays for mine. It's great. We have a Nextel "free incoming"
plan. So all my business clients get my cell number and they think they are
on the inside track - special treatment. And it's not costing me a dime when
they call.

And I have all my servers setup to send me text messages whenever there is
trouble. So I get 24/7 monitoring for free. And I have a "sleep" profile
that doesn't buzz whenever it receives messages, just phone calls. So during
the night I can "turn off" the monitoring system and still have all the
messages there waiting for me in the morning.

(Ehsan, that's how I know when your cron job is acting up - process count
and system load go through the roof.)

About 3 years ago I predicted in the US that we would begin to commonly see
households that have no land line, just cell phones. And now it's true. Next
big wave will be highspeed wireless access delivered to the home from one or
two central places in a town. And some of the big cities already have it.
With the domination of satellite TV, I can see a future when the only wire
you have coming to your house will be electric - you won't need any other
wires.

I can't remember the name of the man, but there was a scientist in
Yugoslavia that invented a way to generate electricity by placing rods in
the ground. I can't remember how feasible it was or the exact outcome.
Perhaps one day we won't even have an electric line coming to the house.
