This indicates a bad contact. You could try to clean both the connector on
the MSX and the cartridges itself.

To clean the connector, first get as much dust as possible out, using high
pressure air if possible. Then use a contact cleaner. Don't spray on the
connector, but use a piece of paper. The best in my opinion is drawing paper
(100-120 gr/m2). It is a little rougher and thicker than standard A4 sheets.
Fold the paper to become almost as thick as the cartridge connector. Spray
some cleaner on the paper and work it in and out of the connector. You
should feel some resistance, but you should not have to force it in. Don't
move sideways or you could bend the contacts! Repeat until no more 'black
stuff' comes off. Then repeat with a dry piece of paper to remove excess
cleaner. Leave the computer off for at least 15 minutes after cleaning.

To clean the cartridge, remove the PCB (print) from the case if possible. If
not, try to be imaginative for the following procedure ;-) Use an eraser to
rub the contacts clean (not a 'pen' eraser with sand in it!). After that I
usually rub it with a tissue with contact cleaner on it and dry it with a
clean tissue, but it's not really necessary.

All should work like a little sun ('als een zonnetje' - Dutch expression for
'perfect')
