I belive ASCII want a non platform dependant emulator (java like) for
selling MSX experience for the masses. Like selling games for low bux
(cheap prices) like a dollar or two by download. If the emulator is not
platform dependant, they increase the possible userbase with less effort
and money investment. I don't think they had how to use java from
Sun, so they got Elate to do the same... The rest is the "well known"
emulator compiled for Elate system (those.img files are the emulator
plus MSX roms and the software it will run.

If it will have sound, I don't know... Also I don't know if they will have
rights to use the SCC emulation from the "well known" emulator, because
Konami still holds pattents for the K051649 chip. (SCC/megarom controller)

And what about GI and their AY-3-8910 ? Is it old enough to become
patent free or it's still pending ?

When comes to mind commercial emulation, that DOES MATTER ... :)
We don't want to see ASCII sued by other companies because of such
simple stuff ... ;)
