Hi,

I think that the code for the UPnP db plugin is done for now, I've been
using it these last weeks with a variety of servers including a small
hardware NAS and it does not crash, loop, or kill the cat.

There have been a few dozen downloads of the package I had advertised
on the Raspberry Pi forums, but I had no feedback (meaning that people
did not actually use it or it's working for them as it is for me).

So it may be time to decide on merging the code. As I see it:

- It does not answer a huge popular demand and it qualifies as bloat,
but when not configured, it's basically not there.
- It has a small contact surface with MPD, so hopefully low maintenance.
- It seems not too bad, works much better than the equivalent in VLC
   for example.
- It seems quite probable that homes will see more UPnP servers in the
future (except if all the music migrates to "the cloud").

The code has been rebased on the current mpd master branch, it's in the
"upnp" branch inside the "medoc/mpd.git" repository. If it stays there,
it will rot, if it's merged, maybe some people will use it.

Cheers,

jf
