An empty directory is not a mailbox.
An empty maildir has a "cur", "new", and "tmp" directory in it, all
empty.
An empty mbox is a zero-length file.
An empty MH mailbox is an empty directory with a .mh-sequences file.
I suspect that you need to "mkdir ~/Maildir/{cur,new,tmp}".
